A masterclass in how to have an incredible wedding….
Alice and Zach’s wedding at The Barns, East Yorkshire was pure joy from start to finish. They triumphed against COVID and didn’t let it spoil their special day. This pair would certainly be in the running for ‘Nicest/coolest people in the universe.’ Here’s how their day went down in Alice’s own words….
The Venue; The Barns, East Yorkshire in Faxfleet
Alice: “I knew from the first picture I saw on Instagram that I wanted to get married at the Barns, East Yorkshire. We booked a viewing to meet with Kate & Ed where we talked things through, and they reiterated the fact that it was our day and we had total freedom but were also very knowledgeable and had a long list of suppliers to recommend which helped two very indecisive people massively! Walking around the venue that day for the first time, we both knew this is where we were supposed to get married. The onsite cottage was amazing and to have our friends and family camp over in the field next to venue just made the day so special.”
Photos; Kazooieloki Photography
“This was a supplier that I felt super passionately about and had done a lot of research on before booking. As soon as I saw Kazooieloki’s style of photography I knew that they were the ones. Richard and Christine are two of the loveliest people and it felt like we had been friends for years. They blended into the day perfectly and we forgot most of the time that they were there to do a job. They were incredible to deal with throughout the pandemic .”
Dress; “My dress was a Joanne Leigh Couture dress. Having my dress made from scratch was the most magical experience and the only time I will probably every feel like a Disney princess. Joanne was like a fairy godmother who made me the most beautiful dress. To have my mum there every step of the way was an experience I will never forget, it was so special.”
Hair; “Luckily for me I picked the world’s best bridesmaids who are not overly fussy about their hair so we decided that between us all we would do it ourselves. It was so lovely to be able to do each other’s hair and it just felt super relaxed and informal.”
Styling; Born Boho: “Claire at Born Boho was the last supplier we booked, and my god are we glad to have crossed paths with Claire. Her vision is the best and I just let her run wild and do exactly what she thought would suit The Barns. All our guests loved the styling and said it was like something out of Game of Thrones.”
Food; Shoot the Bull: “Shoot the Bull’s food was amazing. They listened to the fact we wanted to create a relaxed informal vibe and were always on hand to offer help and advice.”
Suits; “We got them very last minute due to the delays and postponements of our wedding but Suits Direct were incredible and helped make a slightly stressful experience a lot easier.
Bridesmaid Dress; Asos: “Luckily for me my bridesmaids were so easy going and laidback. I found the colour of the dress I liked on Asos that came in a variety of styles, I asked the girls which style they like and ordered them on next day delivery. It was possibly the easiest part of the wedding to plan!”
DJ Mark Green and Michael Mullholland: “In September last year we attended a supper club at The Barns. It was one of our favourite nights last year. Michael was playing at that event and Zach, and I absolutely loved him and his style. We both said that if we got married next year in restrictions, we would ask Michael to play. When we found out that it was only 30 people, we got in contact with him straight away. He played songs that we had selected but also took requests from our guests.
Alice: “Our wedding day was the best day of our lives, and it is because of all our amazing suppliers who went above and beyond for us both. Thank you so much to all of you and I cannot wait to cheer you all on from the side lines for the rest of time.
Love Always
Alice and Zach”
