Jake and Daniel kick off Pride Month with their glamourous wedding at Riverlands

What do you get when a West End star marries a model agent? Oodles of glam and a flippin’ awesome party! Jake and Daniel kicked off Pride Month at Riverlands on 3rd June with their uber chic nuptials – complete with ‘flash bomb’. No, we did not know what that was either but it turns out that’s when the cast of Les Misérables (The actual real West End London cast)  rock up at your wedding and sing a medley of songs. It helps that one of them is the groom and the cast are all his mates – so don’t get too excited if you’re thinking about booking them for your wedding, (although if you like the idea then check out the Undercover Waiters.)

There were so many thoughtful and personal touches at this wedding. Not only was the photographer @barrycraske a friend, Jake and Daniel also requested that The Riverlands Team serve Champagne from their friend’s own vineyard. There were stars of stage, screen and magazine everywhere at this wonderful wedding, and if you look carefully you may spot a few familiar faces. The string quartet for the ceremony and reception were blissful and there was not a dry eye in the house after the personal vows and readings.

We love the black tie dress code chosen by Jake and Daniel. It added an extra touch of glamour and sparkle, which really complimented the relaxed and rustic vibe of Riverlands. Even on this super warm June day, guests stayed cool under our beautiful umbrella trees.

The Grooms opted for a beautiful dark green tone for their nine bridesmaid’s dresses, which looked gorgeous next to Daniel’s black DJ and Jakes’s white one. Simple but elegant white rose bouquets and button holes reflected the chic, understated tone of this wedding. A white rose tower took centre stage for the ceremony and then in the entrance to the dining barn.

As day turned to evening, guests enjoyed sparklers at dusk (which everyone loves, no matter how many times you’ve seen them.)

The dance floor was packed and the moves were impressive – well you would hope so, they are professionals after all!

The photo booth in the vintage VW campervan from @picabovw went down a treat and it is a great way of getting instant printed photos of the day.

The Naked Tipi is a new addition to Riverlands Wedding Barns, so we haven’t had that many chances to photograph it yet. So it was a spot of luck that most of Daniel’s model clients chose to hang out in it for an impromptu photo shoot. It is such a great chill out area and brilliant for photos. When the fire is blazing in the centre it is super zen and guests love it.

Our Riverlands wood fired pizza oven was in full swing by 9pm and chef Dan had a hungry crowd on his hands. His delicious pizzas went down a treat as always.

After dancing the night away guests glamped in bell tents provided by Starbright Hideaways. The next morning chef dan was back in action to serve bacon butties to the campers. It was an epic weekend – congratulations Daniel and Jake – we will never forget it.
